AuctionsPlus

Is an electronic selling system for livestock that offers national competition, allowing buyers to log into and participate in the live sale, anywhere in Australia. Elders is a major supporter of AuctionsPlus and has qualified assessors in every region of Australia.

How you benefit

  • Your livestock are exposed to a national gallery of buyers, maximising competition.
  • You can participate in regular sales: 5 regular sheep sales, 3 regular cattle sales (including Eastern states, Tasmanian and WA sales), as well as numerous "special sales" each week.
  • When stock are listed, you set a reserve price in consultation with Elders assessors.
  • When stock are sold, the price is ‘on property’, with the purchaser paying freight.
  • You are not penalised if grid specifications are not met, as the price is a flat one, particularly relevant for the sale of slaughter stock on a c/kg carcase weight basis.
  • You receive accurate feedback information from the live assessment as well as kill sheet information for slaughter stock.

Forward Contracts

Forward contracts help you lock in a price for livestock to be delivered at a particular time to a set specification. They help balance the 'boom or bust' syndrome and enable you to better manage your cash flow.

Elders forward contracts are now available for feeder cattle and limited over the hooks grades, for all NSW, VIC & SA producers. For further details please contact george.last@elders.com.au

How you benefit

  • You can manage your price risk by locking in a set price for your sheep, pigs, lambs or cattle.
  • You can manage your cash flow and plan your budget with the certainty of cash flow.
  • You can meet your customers’ expectations with a product that will arrive on time, to specification and at a known price.
  • You can implement a genetics program which helps deliver stock to the specifications you know your customers require.
